Property Description
The Navidad Property, located in the foothills of the western slope of the Sierra Madre Occidental, is located in the Municipality of Cucurpe, Sonora in northern Mexico. It consists of one mineral concession covering approximately 134 hectares. The concession is in the vicinity of the Santa Gertrudis heap leach operation that was once operated by Campell Resources Inc. Prior information indicates the area is prospective for disseminated gold. The property is at an early grass roots stage of exploration.
The mineral concession is held by Minera Montana R.L. de C.V. (“Minera Montana”), a wholly-owned Mexican subsidiary of Oremex Resources Inc.
Location & Accessibility
The property is located near the village of Cucurpe, State of Sonora, Mexico. It is easily accessed by paved Mexico Highway 15 to the village of Magdelena de Kino and then south by gravel road for approximately 25 kilometres to the village of Curcupe. The property is also accessible from the village of Imuris, also on Highway 15, approximately 10 kilometres to the north of Magdalena de Kino.
Recent Activity
Since acquiring the Navidad Property in 2003 the Company has maintained the project in good standing and conducted a preliminary surface sampling program in 2006. The Company has not performed any further field work on the property.
During 2007, the Company completed an assessment of the project and concluding that the Company intends to sell its interest in this property.
